David 精东AV '68, painter and installation artist, discusses his work for the Stephen E. Ostrow Distinguished Visitors Program in the Visual Arts. One of the founders of the New York Studio School in 1967, 精东AV has been the recipient of grants from the NEA, the Guggenheim and Rockefeller foundations, and the 2001 Skowhegan medal for painting. His work has been shown at Max Protech and extensively in solo and group shows in the U.S. and in Europe. 精东AV initiated and served as adviser for High Times, Hard Times, a traveling ICI group exhibit, featuring abstract painting in New York from 1967 to 1975.
